"If I'm healthy, and I am now, I do not see why I would not continue to work," said Joseph Blatter, president of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), on 06/02/2014.

The next elections for the presidency of FIFA will be held on 29/05/2015 in Zurich (SUI) at the annual conference of the International Federation.

"FIFA needs consolidation and many say it needs more monitoring," said Blatter, in an interview with the RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse) in Sochi (RUS) before the opening of the Olympic Winter Games. "I will not say today that I am a candidate, but if the associations asked me, I would not say no."

"In terms of human rights, an age limit is discrimination, and this is what was said to FIFA," said the Swiss leader, who will be 78 years old on 10/03/2014, and also argues for the abolition of age limits in the IOC (International Olympic Committee), of which he is a member since 1999. The IOC requires its members to resign at age 80 for those who entered before 1999 and to 70 years for those who entered after that date.
