Top 5 European leagues: an average of €9.8m for main shirt sponsorship (median €3.5m) in 2018-19

91 of the 98 clubs in the Top 5 European Leagues (Premier League, LaLiga Santander, Bundesliga, Serie A TIM and Ligue 1 Conforama) have a main shirt sponsor in 2018-19, representing 92.8% of the clubs, as of 16/04/2019. All Bundesliga (18) and Premier League (20) clubs have a sponsor displayed on the front of the shirt. Seven Top 5 clubs do not have a main shirt sponsor or have made the space available for free (see details below).

99 main shirt sponsorship contracts were signed by the 91 clubs, some of which have multiple partners for the same shirt space. Of these 99 agreements, News Tank Football has compiled the estimated sponsorship amounts of 82 of them. Of these 82 contracts, the average shirt sponsorship amounts to €9.81m in 2018-19. By excluding the extreme values (the five most expensive and the five least expensive agreements) this average drops to €3.52m, which also corresponds to the median revenue (€3.5m).
