Supercopa de España: Saudi Arabia offering €30m per season to host the competition (Marca)

Saudi Arabia is offering the RFEF €30m per season to organise the Supercopa de España for the next six editions (2020 to 2025), according to the Spanish news website Marca, on 23/04/2019. So far no agreement has been signed according to Marca.

Luis Rubiales, president of the RFEF, informed the members of the board of directors of the project to redesign the formats of the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España, during a meeting held at the "Ciudad del Fútbol", the headquarters of the RFEF in Madrid, on 09/04/2019.

• Copa del Rey: each round would be played over a single match, on the pitch of the lower ranked team, until the semi-finals which would be played over two legs.
• Supercopa de España: the RFEF wants to organise a "Final Four" outside of Spain in January. In the semi-finals, the Spanish champions would face the Copa del Rey finalists, while the winner of the Copa del Rey would play versus the runners up of the Spanish league.
