Lega Serie A: TIM returns as title partner of the Coppa Italia ahead the 2018-19 semi-final 2^nd legs

The Italian telecommunications operator Telecom Italia (TIM) has expanded its partnership with Lega Serie A and becomes a title partner of the Coppa Italia, the "TIM Cup", ahead of the 2018-19 semi-final second matches, announced TIM on 23/04/2019.

TIM has held the naming rights to the Italian first division, the Serie A TIM, since 1998-99, and has renewed this agreement with the Lega Serie A for the 2018-2021 cycle, on 26/07/2018. From 1998-99 to 2017-18, TIM was also title sponsor of the Coppa Italia.

The renewal of TIM for the naming rights of the Serie A TIM did not include the rights to the Coppa Italia. The naming rights of the Italian Cup and Super Cup would then have been awarded to Frecciarossa, the high-speed trains offer of the Italian national railway Trenitalia, according to transalpine media on 26/07/2018. However, the agreement was broken by Trenitalia a week after the start of the contract.
