"The General Secretary of FIFA, Jerome Valcke, believes Curitiba is moving in the right direction," announced FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) on 04/02/3014, about the stadium in Curitiba, which must accommodate four of 64 matches of the 20th Football World Cup, held from 12/06 to 07/13/2014 in Brazil.

"Curitiba stadium will be ready in late April. We do not have a plan B and we do not need a plan B," said Jérôme Valcke during SpoBis, a sports business forum in Düsseldorf (GER) on 05/02/2014.

Jérôme Valcke had mentioned a possible exclusion of the stadium during his inspection tour to Brazil on 21/01/2014. "We may have to organise matches without this stadium, it is an emergency," he stated, with less than 90% of the work underway.
