Ligue 1 Conforama: "We do not aim to sell OGC Nice" (C. Lee and A. Zheng, majority shareholders)

"We do not aim to sell OGC Nice (Ligue 1 Conforama). If we did meet potential investors, it was with the consent of the entire (supervisory) board with the sole and only objective to see if these potential investors could partner with us to further accelerate the development of the club," stated the majority shareholders Chien Lee, also chairman of the supervisory board of OGC Nice, and Alex Zheng.

These comments follow the reported interest of the British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe in acquiring OGC Nice, as mentioned by the local daily Nice-Matin on 04/04/2019. With one of the largest fortunes in the UK, Jim Ratcliffe is head of Ineos, a chemical company that already owns the Swiss club Lausanne-Sport (Challenge League, division 2).

"For the future, the question of financial means is obviously crucial: a thorough work has been undertaken by the new management team, and this is already starting to bear fruit and will ensure a significant increase in our commercial revenues. This will then be fully reinjected into the club," added the two Chinese shareholders of OGC Nice.
