Italy: Pordenone Calcio promoted to the Serie BKT (for 2019-20) for the first time in its history

Founded in 1920, the Italian club of Pordenone Calcio (Friuli region, north-east Italy) will play in the Serie BKT for the first time (2019-20 season) after securing first place in Group B of the Serie C (72 points, 19 wins, 15 draws and 3 losses ahead of Matchday 38, the final matchday) after their victory versus AS Giana Erminio (3-1, Matchday 37) at the Stadio Ottavio Bottecchia in Pordenone on 28/04/2019.

"The promotion to the Serie BKT rewards the Lovisa family, at the head of the club (Mauro Lovisa is president), who have established a kind of popular shareholding in the region," explained Lega Serie B, on 28/04/2019.

The Stadio Ottavio Bottecchia in Pordenone has a capacity of 3,089. Though no official decision has been made, it is not clear if Pordenone Calcio will be licensed to play Serie BKT games in the Stadio Bottecchia in 2019-20. Pordenone, a city of 51,000 inhabitants (including greater Pordenone area, 86,000 inhabitants) is located 50km west of Udine (autonomous province of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia).
