AS Monaco: "The presidents think we are being lead around a little" (JF Fortin, SM Caen)

"We rule in one direction, then we do not hear anything, and then suddenly shift... even if it is not true, we (the presidents) think that we are being led around a little," said Jean-François Fortin, president of SM Caen and member of the board of the LFP (French Professional Football League), to NTF on 05/02/2014.

The LFP and AS Monaco have put a definitive end to their dispute on 23/01/2014: Monaco has pledged €50m to the League and to withdraw the appeal that was brought before the Council of State against the decision of the League to force Monaco to place its headquarters in France. "As a result of this agreement, AS Monaco is definitely eligible to participate in the championship of France, while maintaining its place of management in the Principality of Monaco," said the LFP on 24/01/2014.

"The LFP will amend its statutes and we will forever ignore the particular circumstances of Monaco. Meanwhile, experts estimate the advantage gained by this club with its headquarters in Monaco is €50m to €60m per year. And at €50m, the problem is extinguished forever. This is not normal!…
