Boca Juniors (Argentina) and Nike have presented a fluorescent yellow shirt for the 2014 "Torneo Final" Championship (second half of the 2013-14 championship), the club announced on 07/02/2014.

This is the third consecutive year that the club and the American equipment company have launched an "alternative" or "third" shirt. In late 2012, Boca Juniors launched a purple kit which sold 14,000 shirts for a total sales of around €1m.

The club has also sold a pink kit since July 2013. More than 50,000 of these shirts have been purchased by fans of the Buenos Aires club, with the turnover estimated at €3.1m, a record for an alternate shirt.

The Fluo yellow shirt is priced at €70 euros.

  • Nike pays €6.25m per season until 2014-15 to be the official equipment supplier of Boca Juniors.
  • Upon its release in July 2013, the pink shirt aroused great controversy among fans of the club on Facebook and Twitter.
  • The Argentine Federation had banned Boca Juniors from wearing in the pink shirt in championship matches on 10/09/2013, without justifying the reason, nor the amount of the potential fine.
