2.Bundesliga: K-M Kühne renews the naming rights to Hamburg's Volksparkstadion until 2019-20

The German billionaire Klaus-Michael Kühne has extended his partnership with Hamburger Sport-Verein (2.Bundesliga) as the holder of the naming rights to the Volksparkstadion (57,000 capacity) until 2019-20, announced the German club on 24/04/2019. The value of the agreement has not been disclosed.

Klaus-Michael Kühne acquired the naming rights to Hamburger SV's stadium for the 2015-2019 cycle on 22/01/2015. The Volksparkstadion was previously called the Imtech Arena in 2014-15, named after the Dutch group Royal Imtech, a technology solutions provider for the energy industry.

The Hamburg stadium took back its original name of Volksparkstadion, which means "The People's Stadium" in English, on 01/07/2015. Klaus-Michael Kühne, owner of the transport company Kuehne + Nagel International AG, is a supporter of HSV as well as a minority shareholder of the club, and prefers the original name of the stadium be used.
