Lega Serie A: the reform of the European Cups on the agenda of the General Assembly on 09/05/2019

A General Assembly of the Lega Serie A will be convened at the headquarters of the Italian League in Milan (ITA) on Thursday 09/05/2019 at 09:00 CET (or 11:00 CET if there is no quorum at 09:00), announced the Italian football body on 02/05/2019.

The agenda, signed by Gaetano Miccichè, president of the Lega Serie A, provides in particular that a point must be made after the "Club Advisory Platform" held in Madrid (ESP) on 06 and 07/05/2019, hosted by European Leagues on the reform of the Champions League from the 2024-25 season. This "Platform" will be followed by a meeting between the board of directors of European Leagues and the UEFA Executive Committee "for a discussion which will focus on the evolution of professional football in Europe after 2024", in Nyon (SUI), on Wednesday 08/05/2019.

Lega Serie A will also discuss its relationship with Mediapro, the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group. It chose to dissolve its contract with the group on 05/06/2018, while the group wanted to acquire the domestic TV rights for Italy Serie A TIM for the 2018-2021 cycle.
