European Cups reform: "Only one tournament with 4 groups of 20 clubs" (A. De Laurentiis, SSC Napoli)

"The UEFA Champions League and Europa League must be abolished and replaced by a single tournament, with 80 teams: the top seven from the Italian, French, English, German and Spanish leagues, and the top four from the Portuguese, Dutch and Belgian Swedish leagues and all the others. The teams would then be divided into four groups of 20, and each play 19 matches with a draw to determine who gets the (extra) home game," said Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of the SSC Napoli (Serie A TIM) in the Italian daily Il Corriere della Sera, on 05/05/2019.

"I would call this competition the 'European Cup', and the matches would be played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, thus respecting the schedule of the national championships during the weekend.
