European Cups: "Leagues and clubs united to protect the future of pro football" (European Leagues)

"More than 200 clubs from across 38 European countries gathered for a historical meeting with one clear goal: to protect domestic football competitions and the long-term sporting and financial sustainability of all professional clubs in Europe," on the initiative of European Leagues, during a Club Advisory Platform organized in conjunction with LaLiga, in Madrid (ESP) on 06 and 07/05/2019.

"European Leagues and clubs join forces to protect the future of professional football," said the association of European Professional Football Leagues in the title of its press release.

"European Leagues must be involved in the decision making process regarding any proposals to alter the football calendar," added the association. A leadership delegation from European Leagues followed the Madrid summit with a meeting with the UEFA Executive Committee in Nyon (SUI) on Wednesday 08/05/2019.
