Premier League: Genius Sports Group to distribute data to betting operators with Football DataCo

Genius Sports Group, a data technology provider, alongside Football Dataco, a British company in charge of the protection, management and marketing of sports data rights of the English and Scottish professional football leagues, have announced an agreement to distribute live data from the Premier League, English Football League and the Scottish Professional Football League to sports betting operators worldwide, from 2019-20, on 09/05/2019. The value of the agreement has not been communicated.

Genius Sports Group will succeed Perform Group (DAZN), specialised in the production of sports content and parent company of Opta (sports statistics provider), who had previously extended its partnership for the marketing of the sports statistics of the two English leagues and the Scottish league with Football DataCo until 2018, on 30/07/2015. Perform Group was acquired by the investment firm Vista Equity Partners on 15/04/2019.
