"I'm worried, even though the project is for 2024. They talk about a reform of the Champions League, but it's really a new competition. They want to change the DNA of the Champions League. The leagues were the preliminary phase to qualify for the Champions League. It will not be like that, as only four teams would gain access via their league in Europe. Javier Tebas was interviewed on GolTV's "El Golazo de la Mañana" ("Goal of the Morning") by the directors of the four most important Spanish sports newspapers, AS, Marca, Mundo Deportivo and Sport.

"This project seriously jeopardises the Spanish league. The football industry, which accounts for 1.37% of Spain's GDP, is under threat. More than 160,000 jobs are generated, it is a sector that creates a lot of wealth for this country," said the LaLiga president.
