LaLiga Santander: opening of an RCD Espanyol Academy in Helsinki (FIN) on 10/06/2019

Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) will open an RCDE academy in Helsinki (Finland) from 10/06/2019, its second in a European country outside Spain, after Stockholm (Sweden), according to the club on 14/05/2019.

"The director of this new RCDE Academy will be Toni Mejias, coach of the base football of the RCD Espanyol de Barcelona until last February (2019). The new white and blue academy is part of a long term project to continue exporting our club's brand and know-how at an international level in the Finnish capital," said the Catalan club.

The academy in the Finnish capital will be the club's 13^th abroad, after those in New Jersey, Miami and Los Angeles (USA), Ajman (United Arab Emirates), Baghdad (Iraq), Saitama (Japan), Algiers and Blida (Algeria), Hunan, Yunnan and Shanghai (China), and Stockholm (Sweden). The Catalan club also inaugurated an academy reserved for young Chinese and Asian players in Sabadell (near Barcelona, ESP), in partnership with the Chinese club HLK Football Club in June 2017.
