England: a record average of 11,113 spectators in the 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th divisions in 2018-19 (EFL)

The 1,655 matches played in the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two during the 2018-19 season drew an average of 11,113 spectators, the best attendance posted by the EFL since 1959, according to the English body on 08/05/2019.

The English Football League has 72 clubs divided into three divisions (24 clubs per league):
• Sky Bet Championship (2^nd division)
• Sky Bet League One (3^rd division)
• Sky Bet League Two (4^th Division).

"The record number is further indication of the growing appeal of the EFL, as cumulative attendances across the Championship, League One and League Two broke the 18 million barrier for a third consecutive year, with the average gate across all three divisions at over 11,000 (...) The 2018-19 record high represents a 1.5% increase on the same figures published for the 2017-18 campaign," said the EFL.
