Spain: Mediapro to broadcast the Women's World Cup 2019 on its free-TV channel GOL

The Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro will broadcast the Women's World Cup 2019 exclusively on GOL, announced the Spanish free-TV channel on 17/05/2019.

Mediapro acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights in Spain for the 2022 World Cup (Qatar) and the Women's World Cup 2019 (France) from FIFA on 18/01/2019.

GOL will devote "more than 150 hours of programming" to the Women's World Cup 2019 with "a special Spanish team follow-up," explained the channel.

  • Mediapro also acquired the broadcasting rights to other competitions over the 2019-2022 period from FIFA, on 18/01/2019:
    • U20 World Cup in Poland (May-June 2019)
    • U17 World Cup in Peru (October 2019)
    • Beach soccer world cup in Paraguay (November 2019)
    • Futsal World Cup in Lithuania (September - October 2020)
