Serie A international TV rights: IMG, MP & Silva and B4 Capital convicted of unlawful agreements

The agencies IMG, MP & Silva (in liquidation since 17/10/2018) and B4 Capital have been ordered by the AGCM to pay a total amount of €67m for unlawful agreements on international TV rights tenders issued by the Lega Serie A between 2008 and the start of the investigation (27/07/2017), according to the Italian Competition Authority on 20/05/2019.

The AGCM found a violation of Article 101(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union following its investigation which ended on 24/04/2019.

"The agreements cover tenders for the international rights of the Serie A, Serie B, the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana. For each tender procedure, the evidence indicates that the parties did not formulate their bids independently," said the Authority.
