Spain: RFEF to end partnership with adidas and seek a new equipment supplier

"The Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol is entering a period of negotiations to change equipment suppliers. The current contract with adidas is in effect until 2026. The conditions agreed when it was signed several years ago do not comply with the criteria of legality, transparency and equity that the RFEF considers acceptable as a minimum," announced the Spanish Federation on 20/05/2019.

The RFEF extended its partnership with the German equipment manufacturer adidas until 2026, in September 2015. The partnership between the two parties began in 1981 with adidas paying the Spanish Federation €18m (+bonuses) per season. "The RFEF will continue to comply with the agreement with adidas until the date on which the contractual termination takes effect," added the RFEF.

"Today we are starting negotiations to find a new equipment supplier. All brands in the sector that wish to do so have the opportunity to contact the RFEF in order to be the next supplier of its teams, leagues, sports equipment etc.," said the Spanish Federation.
