ECA delays replacement of Sandro Rosell on executive committee to "a later meeting"

"The decision regarding Sandro Rosell's replacement in the ECA Executive Board (European Clubs Association) and the UEFA (European Football Associations Union) Professional Strategy Council has been postponed to a later meeting," declared the ECA on 12/02/2014. During this period, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of the organisation, will represent ECA in strategic consulting for UEFA alongside Ivan Gazidis (Arsenal FC), Umberto Gandini (AC Milan) and Evgeni Giner (CSKA Moscow).

Sandro Rosell resigned as president of FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) after "the Neymar case," on 23/01/2014. "From the beginning I have said that the signing of Neymar Jr has been correct and his signing has caused despair and envy in some of our adversaries... I don't want unfair attacks to negatively affect their management or the image of the club. This is why I think my time here has come to an end," he explained during a special meeting of the board of FC Barcelona on 23/01/2014.
