European Cup reform: "If you ask me, there is no need to change anything" (A. Ceferin, UEFA)

"If you ask me, there is no need to change anything," said Aleksander Ceferin (SVN), president of UEFA, to the German magazine Der Spiegel about the UEFA Champions League reform project on 24/05/2019.

"Football is the only European product that is by far the best in the world. The Champions League is a global product, it is getting bigger in China and the USA. These are the emerging markets for our sport. In Europe, there is not much more to do," said Ceferin in an interview also given to the European Investigative Collaborations (EIC) network.

An "informal brainstorming session to exchange views and ideas around UEFA club competitions post-2024" took place between the UEFA Executive Committee and ECA Executive Board at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon (SUI) on 19/03/2019.
