FA Cup: ITV to replace BT Sport and co-broadcast the competition for free with the BBC (2021-2025)

The British private audiovisual group ITV has acquired the free-to-air broadcasting rights to the Emirates FA Cup, for the United Kingdom, over the 2021-2025 cycle, on 23/05/2019. ITV will broadcast over 20 matches per season as well as the Community Shield. The value of the agreement has not been communicated.

ITV will share the Emirates FA Cup broadcasting rights with the British public broadcaster BBC, which extended its rights for the 2021-2025 period on 19/03/2019. The BBC will broadcast 18 matches per season compared to 16 currently (2018-2021 cycle).

ITV will replace the pay-TV operator BT Sport, which broadcasts 30 Emirates FA Cup matches per season over the 2018-2021 cycle, and pays an estimated £25m (€29m) annually.

Over the 2021-2025 cycle, as well broadcasting the final, "ITV will have first pick and fourth pick of matches in the Second Round, Fourth Round and the quarterfinals, as well as second and third picks for the First, Third and Fifth Rounds and second pick of the semi-finals," said the audiovisual group.
