England: Carabao (energy drinks) extends as title sponsor of the EFL Cup (2020-2022)

Carabao, a Thai brand of energy drinks, has extended as title sponsor of the English League Cup and official partner of the English Football League for two additional seasons on 30/05/2019. The competition will retain the name of the "Carabao Cup" until 2021-22.

Carabao became title partner of the competition for three seasons (2017-2020), on 04/11/2016. The Thai beverage brand pays the English Football League an estimated £6m (€6.7m as of 07/11/2016) per season, according to British media. Carabao has notably succeeded Carling (beer, 2003-2012) and Capital One (bank, 2012-2016), which paid £5.5m per season for its partnership (€7.1m as of 01/06/2016) as title sponsor of the English League Cup.

Under the new agreement, Carabao will benefit from visibility on the English Football League's digital platforms. Carabao retains its visibility on the ribbons that decorate the trophy as well as on the official EFL Cup ball.
