Champions League: Tottenham-Liverpool, 1^st final at the Estadio Metropolitano (Madrid) on 01/06/2019

The Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, renamed the "Estadio Metropolitano" for the occasion (UEFA does not use stadium naming sponsors under these circumstances), will host the 2019 Champions League final on Saturday 01/06/2019 (kick-off at 21:00 CET). Tottenham Hotspur FC (Premier League) - Liverpool FC (Premier League) will be the 10^th consecutive final to be played on a weekend rather than a Wednesday.

The Wanda Metropolitano, named after the Chinese conglomerate specialised in tourism, hotels and entertainment, has been the home of Club Atlético de Madrid since 2017 and the club's departure from the Estadio Vicente Calderón.

The last European final in Madrid was the Champions League final, in which FC Internazionale Milano (Serie A TIM) beat FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu, the home of Real Madrid CF, on 22/05/2010.

Slovenian referee Damir Skomina will officiate the Tottenham Hotspur FC - Liverpool FC match. Grammy Award winners Imagine Dragons will perform at the opening ceremony presented by the American agribusiness group PepsiCo.
