Manchester United: turnover, sales revenue and net profits all up on 31/12/2013

Manchester United (Premier League) achieved a record turnover of £122.9m (€149.8m) in the second quarter of fiscal year 2014 (from 01/10 to 31/12/2013), up 11.6% year on year (£110.1m, €134.2m), announced the English club on 12/02/2014. Since 01/07/2013, the turnover of Manchester United is £221.4m (€269.9m), up 18.8% year on year (£186.4m / €227.2m).

The Red Devils explained their turnover in the second quarter of 2014 by an 18.8% increase in their business income, reaching £42.3m (€51.6m) on 31/12/2013. During the last three months of 2013, Man Utd concluded six partnerships: three sponsorships (Unilever, Hong Kong Jockey Club and Banif Bank) and three TV arrangements to broadcast their television channel MUTV (Fuji TV, SPOTV and STC).

Manchester United recorded a positive operating profit of £51m (€62.2m) for the second quarter of 2014, a slight increase of 1.6% and a net profit of £19m (€23.2m ), up 17.3%. Throughout the first half of 2014, net income for the Mancunian club fell by 49% to £18.7m (€22.8m), against £36.7m (€ 44.8m) a year earlier.
