FIFA: "For me, Gianni Infantino has no legitimacy to represent football" (Michel Platini)

"For me, Gianni Infantino is not credible as FIFA president and has no legitimacy to represent football. Just because you have drawn the balls (i.e. participated in competition draws) does not mean you can represent FIFA," said Michel Platini, former president of UEFA (2007-2015), at a press briefing in Paris for international media, including the French daily newspapers Le Monde and L'Équipe, on 03/06/2019.

"He was a very good UEFA secretary general , but how can someone who vomited on FIFA for 10 years every day become FIFA president? When I say 'vomit' I'm exaggerating a bit, but everyone knows that he was always critical of FIFA. I was therefore surprised to see him running for the presidency," added Michel Platini, who was suspended from any position in football until 08/10/2019, due to a payment by FIFA of CHF2m, or €1.54m at the time of the payment in 2011, for his duties between 1999 and 2002 as an advisor to Joseph Blatter, then FIFA president.
