Tennis: Rakuten (e-commerce) becomes "global presenting partner" of the Davis Cup for 2019 and 2020

Rakuten, a Japanese group specialised in Internet services, e-commerce, finance and digital content, has become the "global presenting partner" of the Davis Cup, which has been renamed "Davis Cup by Rakuten," announced the Kosmos group, the ITF and Rakuten on 04/06/2019.

The duration of the partnership is planned for two years (2019-2020), with an option to renew for two years. Rakuten has the status of global partner, the first level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the competition. The brand will be displayed on advertising panels at the Caja Mágica (The Magic Box) in Madrid (ESP) from the finals which will be held from 18 to 24/11/2019.

Rakuten succeeds BNP Paribas as the presenting partner of the Davis Cup. The French bank announced that it was prematurely terminating its involvement with the ITF after a 17 year partnership (2002-2019) with the Davis Cup, on 22/03/2019.
