England: BT (telecoms) becomes a lead partner of The FA for five years (2019-2024, £60m)

The British telecommunications group BT (British Telecom) has become a lead partner (first level) of The Football Association for five years (2019-2024), according to The FA on 04/06/2019. Thus, the 28 English national teams (football, futsal, disabled sports) will display the BT logo as a main training kit sponsor.

This agreement "is part of a wider new BT brand and sponsorship strategy, to champion the UK," said The FA. The five-year deal will be worth £60m (€67.7m), according to the British daily The Times on 04/06/2019.

BT will replace the car manufacturer Vauxhall Motors (PSA Group), lead partner of The FA for the 2011-2018 cycle. Vauxhall paid the Association £6m per year (€6.07m on 03/04/2017, the day the brand announced its decision not to extend the partnership with The FA after the 2018 World Cup).
