FIFA: cooperation agreement for Africa signed with the French Development Agency (AFD)

"The implementation of various social projects related to football, including the development of women's football and the Football for Schools Programme," is the aim of a cooperation agreement for Africa signed between FIFA and the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement, AFD) in Paris (FRA) on 04/06/2019.

Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, and Rémy Rioux, CEO of the AFD, signed the agreement in the presence of Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic and former internationals Marcel Desailly (FRA), Didier Drogba (CIV) and Samuel Eto'o (CMR), during a ceremony at the Élysée Palace.

According to FIFA, the cooperation agreement has two main objectives on the African continent: "gender equality and women's empowerment" and "Education through football."
