Belgium: MP & Silva becomes Pro League media adviser and Jupiler Pro League distributer

The media rights agency MP & Silva became advisers regarding "the packaging and marketing of domestic and international football rights" for the Jupiler Pro League, the Belgian first division, the Belgian Pro League announced on 13/02/2014. The partnership, which comes into effect in the 2014-15 season, will run until the end of the 2019-20 season, a period of six years.

"Subject to the payment of the first sum (€5m) within five working days of the signing of the contract" (thus 18/02/2014), MP & Silva will assist the Belgian professional league in the management of offers and conditions for the sale of TV rights (across all broadcast platforms) with domestic and international interest from broadcasters as well as paying the Pro League a minimum guaranteed amount each season. Although the amount has not been disclosed, the Belgian press estimated, on 23/01/2014, a target sum of €55m per season, equivalent to the current amount (€165m over the period of 2011-2014). The Pro League will retain ownership of its TV rights throughout the partnership with MP & Silva.
