69^th FIFA Congress: Gianni Infantino re-elected as president for a four-year term (2019-2023)

Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA since 26/02/2016, has been re-elected for a four-year term (2019-2023) at the 69^th Congress, attended by FIFA's 211 member associations, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, in Paris (FRA), on 05/06/2019.

The only candidate in the running, Infantino was re-elected by acclamation thanks to an amendment to the statutes (in the case of a single candidate) adopted by an almost unanimous vote (202 in favour, 3 against).

"Thanks to all those who love me, and all those who hate me. Today I love everyone, long live football and long live FIFA!" said the re-elected president. Before the election, he welcomed the financial situation of the world body as "a solid financial situation as never before": revenues reached $6.4bn (€5.9bn as of 31/12/2018) for the 2015-2018 cycle, $1.4bn (€1.22bn) more than expected, after overcoming the "worst crisis," said Gianni Infantino.
