SL Benfica: 1^st major European club to offer a cryptocurrency payment option with new partner UTRUST

"Portuguese champions (2018-19) Sport Lisboa e Benfica (Liga NOS) has become the first major European football club to accept online payments with cryptocurrency," announced the club on 05/06/2019.

"In partnership with UTRUST (cryptocurrency platform), the most innovative digital payment solution, Benfica now offers its supporters the option of using cryptocurrencies to buy match tickets and the entire range of Benfica products at the official online store," added the Portuguese club.

"The launch of UTRUST as a cryptocurrency payment solution partner will evolve the club's e-commerce strategy and expand its global audience, in particular, bringing tech-savvy supporters and cryptocurrency holders in Portugal and abroad closer to its home ground of the Estádio da Luz (64,165 capacity)," said the club.
