Rakuten (JPN) launches Rakuten Sports (international OTT sports platform) to broadcast the J.League

Rakuten, a Japanese group specialised in Internet services, has launched an international OTT sports platform "Rakuten Sports", on 11/06/2019.

Rakuten has acquired the broadcasting rights for the J.League from Lagardère Sports. These rights are valid worldwide excluding countries where Lagardère Sports has already signed agreements (see below).

"Rakuten Sports also offers the original series Iniesta TV, which follows the international soccer star Andrés Iniesta (ESP) who plays for the Rakuten Group's J.League soccer club, Vissel Kobe," said Lagardère Sports on 11/06/2019.

  • Rakuten is the official e-commerce platform partner of the J.League Japanese first division, 18 clubs .
  • Rakuten Sports will broadcast the J.League worldwide excluding in the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei, Canada, Chad, China, Croatia, Djibouti, Egypt, North Macedonia, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Macao, Mauritania, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Republic of the Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, Somalia…
