Serie A TIM: US Sassuolo inaugurates the Mapei Football Center, the club's new training center

Unione Sportiva Sassuolo Calcio (Serie A TIM) has inaugurated the Mapei Football Center, its new 45,000 square meter training centre, on 10/06/2019. The cost of the project is estimated at €12m according to the Italian media.

This new training centre, which took two years to build, is located in the very city of Sassuolo (Emilia Romagna. ITA), on a plot of land owned by the municipality and for which the club has obtained the licence for a period of 40 years. As the holder of the naming rights for these new infrastructures, the Italian group Mapei (building products) is also the namer of US Sassuolo Calcio's stadium Mapei Stadium (21,584 capacity). Giorgio Squinzi (76), owner of the club, is also the managing director of Mapei.

The training centre includes six training pitches (four natural and two synthetic), one of which has a stand, as well as two buildings. The main building, 110 metres long, houses 50 offices, eight changing rooms, two gymnasiums, two physiotherapy centres and a swimming pool. It can accommodate up to 135 athletes at the same time.
