Sky Bet Championship: BR88 (betting) becomes "first-ever" sleeve sponsor of Aston Villa FC (2019-20)

BR88, an online sports betting and gambling operator based in the Philippines, has become the "first-ever" sleeve sponsor of Aston Villa FC (Sky Bet Championship), for the 2019-20 season, announced the club that was promoted to the Premier League for the 2019-20 season on 13/06/2019.

BR88 has the status of principal partner, the first level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the club Birmingham (ENG) club. BR88 joins the club's new main partners, namely Kappa (equipment manufacturer, 2019-2022) and W88 (sports betting, 2019-20). Two sports betting operators will therefore be displayed on Aston Villa's shirts in 2019-20 (see below).

"A fast-growing interactive betting and gaming company, the BR88 logo will feature on the sleeve of first team and adult replica shirts," said the club.

Of the 18 Premier League clubs that had a sleeve sponsor in 2018-19, six partnerships were formed with British companies (30% of the total) and five with Asian companies (25%). On average, each of the 18 clubs under contract with a sleeve sponsor received £3.48m (€3.9m) in 2018-19.
