"I have learned with sorrow the loss of our friend Jean Appietto, which suddenly occurred last night. Jean had been the lawyer of the FFF (French Football Federation) and the LFP (Professional Football League) for 40 years," said Frédéric Thiriez, president of the LFP, on 15/02/2014.

Jean Appietto, born on 20/04/1933, died suddenly on 15/02/2014, although he was still at his office in Paris the day before.

A religious ceremony will be held at Saint-Eustache church (Paris), on Thursday 20/02/2014, at 10:30. Jean Appietto's funeral will be held on Monday 24/02/2014 in Ajaccio (South Corsica).
