Bundesliga: wohninvest (real estate) obtains Weserstadion (SV Werder Bremen) naming rights (€30m)

Wohninvest, a German real estate group, has obtained, via Bremer Weser-Stadion GmbH, the branch in charge of the Weserstadion (42,100 capacity) home of Sport Verein Werder Bremen (Bundesliga), the naming rights for the venue from the 2019-20 season, according to the club on 13/06/2019. "The official name of the stadium will be wohninvest Weserstadion. The 10-year contract will run until 30/06/2019 and will bring nearly €30m to the Bremer Weser-Stadion GmbH," said the club.

"After EWE AG (energy) ended their contract as Werder's stadium partner in 2017, the club spent two years searching for a new, creative ways to finance the modernisation of the stadium. This past year, Werder accepted the responsibility of covering their funding shortfall, which significantly reduced the amount of money available to the club. The city contibuted a loan to the club," said Werder Bremen.
