Handball: Liqui Moly replaces DKB as title sponsor of the German league (2019-2022)

Liqui Moly, a German manufacturer of engine maintenance and cleaning products, has acquired the naming rights for the German Men's Handball League (Handball-Bundesliga) from HBL GmbH for three seasons from 01/07/2019, on 13/06/2019. Liqui Moly also has an option to prolong the name "Liqui Moly Handball-Bundesliga" by two additional seasons.

The value of the agreement is estimated at €1.8m per year by the German media. Liqui Moly replaces Deutsche Kreditbank AG (bank), which has held the league's naming rights (DKB Handball-Bundesliga) since the 2012-13 season, for around €1.2m per year.

"In addition to naming, Liqui Moly obtains a complete marketing rights and hospitality package. The Liqui Moly HBL logo will be visible on the sleeves of the 18 clubs' shirts, as well as on signage at the venues and floor stickers on the courts. The premium partner brand will also be present on all communications, on the home page of the website, on all other digital channels and on social networking platforms," explained the league.
