Olympique Lyonnais: partnership with the Pelé Academia, a football school based in Resende (BRA)

Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Conforama) has officially established a partnership with the "Pelé Academia", a Brazilian football school located in the city of Resende, near Rio de Janeiro, on 14/06/2019.

"Olympique Lyonnais is pleased to announce the signing of a long-term agreement with the football academy sponsored by the Brazilian football legend to support its launch and development," said the French club, which, as part of the agreement, has acquired a 10% minority stake in the Brazilian company Gol de Placa, which manages the Pelé Academia and Resende FC (first division of the state of Rio de Janeiro).

"A partnership between Resende FC and Olympique Lyonnais was also signed. It will allow the Brazilian club to benefit from OL's training expertise, and will give OL the opportunity to recruit young players trained within the academy," added the Lyon club. Inaugurated in December 2018, the Pelé Academia facilities cover more than 100,000 m2 and include 6 pitches, 128 boarding places and several classrooms.
