Germany: a structural reform of the DFL will be examined at the General Assembly on 21/08/2019

The abolition of the position of DFL president as "supreme representative of the German League" is one of the most dramatic changes in the structural reform of the DFL e.V. (Deutsche Fußball Liga eingetragener Verein / German Football League Non-Profit Association) that the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs have adopted at an extraordinary general assembly, in Neu-Isenburg, near Frankfurt (Hesse, Germany) on 18/06/2019.

The new model, which retains the two pillars of the association (DFL e.V.) and business (DFL GmbH) set up on 24/08/2016, will be presented to the General Assembly on 21/08/2019. "In the future, the chairman of the 'DFL GmbH' (DFL trading company) Executive Board will also act as 'spokesperson for the Executive Committee' and coordinate its work. Operational responsibility and external communication will therefore be handled by a single person," explained the DFL.
