Bundesliga: VfB Stuttgart offers season ticket holders additional tickets at €2.50

VfB Stuttgart (Bundesliga) offered additional match tickets for just €2.50 to existing ticket holders on 18/02/2014. The promotion involves the matches against Hertha Berlin (22^nd Matchday of the Bundesliga on 22/02/2014) and Eintracht Braunsweig (24^th Matchday on 08/03/2014). The cheapest price for a single ticket is usually €18.50 euros, excluding gala matches (Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund).

VfB Stuttgart wants to fight the declining number of spectators at the Mercedes-Benz Arena (60,000 seats). Since the beginning of the 2013-14 season, the club has an average attendance of 45,500 spectators, a fill rate of 75.4%. Average attendance is down 9% (4,500 people) compared to the 2012-13 season during which the club gathered an average crowd of 50,021 to Bundesliga matches, an occupancy of 82.8%.

The club is currently 15^th out of 18 places after 21 Matchdays in the Bundesliga, partly explaining the decline in attendance.
