Piracy: website "beinsport-streaming.com" closed, following a complaint from Canal+, beIN and RMC

"Following a joint complaint filed by the Canal+ Group, beIN Sports and RMC Sport, in collaboration with the French Association against Audiovisual Piracy (ALPA), and a preliminary investigation conducted by the cyber-crime group of the research section of the French national gendarmerie (police) of the city of Rennes, the creators and administrators allegedly behind the pirate website 'beinsport-streaming.com' were arrested in June 2018, and will be arraigned soon in front of the Court of Rennes," indicated the three pay-TV groups on 24/06/2019.

"The platform 'beinsport-streaming.com', which has since been closed by the authorities, offered about twenty pirate sites, notably streaming a lot of live sports programing and events, coming from the main French sports broadcasters, and in total illegality," added Canal+, beIn Sports and RMC Sport.

"During their last six months of operation, the websites of 'beinsport-streaming.com' were visited by nearly 500,000 net users per month, with administrators getting paid through the display of banner ads. Money has been seized in the police…
