DFB-Pokal: ARD to pay €135m for the 2019-2022 TV rights (9 matches/year) in Germany (press)

The German public TV group ARD will pay €135m (€45m per year) for the broadcast rights for nine matches per season (including the final) of the DFB-Pokal, over the 2019-2022 cycle, according to the website of the German magazine Der Spiegel on 22/06/2019.

ARD paid €127m for the same rights over the 2016-2019 cycle, according to Der Spiegel.

ARD, through its agency SportA, the pay-TV group Sky Deutschland, the private pay and free TV group Sport1 and the media group Axel Springer SE, have acquired the broadcasting rights of DFB-Pokal for the 2019-2022 cycle, announced the DFB on 20/04/2018.
