Ligue 1 Conforama: FC Nantes ends to discussions with the English fund LFE for the sale of the club

Waldemar Kita, owner and president of FC Nantes (Ligue 1 Conforama) since July 2007, decided to end to discussions with the English investment fund LFE Football Group Limited regarding the sale of the club, on 25/06/2019.

"Waldemar Kita finds that the UK investment fund which had spontaneously presented itself as a candidate for the takeover of the club does not have the minimum of bank guarantees required by professional football bodies to continue a discussion. As a result, Waldemar Kita, aware of the stakes, can not continue discussions with this fund, which is unable to produce a complete file to the DNCG (French football financial control)," added the Nantes club.

Represented by the British businessman Benjamin Leigh Hunt, LFE Football Group Limited had an appointment with the DNCG on Tuesday 25/06/2019, to present its takeover project of FC Nantes, in the framework of "an operation that would have valued the club to about €80m," according to the French media L'Equipe.
