Eintracht Frankfurt: a joint women's team in 2020 with 1. FFC Frankfurt (Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga)

"Eintracht Frankfurt (Bundesliga) and 1. FFC Frankfurt (5^th in the Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga in 2018-19) are planning to join forces to enter the Women's Bundesliga from the 2020-21 season onwards, playing under the Eintracht banner," announced the German club on 27/06/2019.

"A year and a half ago, FFC manager Siegfried Dietrich was tasked by board members to approach Eintracht with a view to discussing a potential collaboration. In recent months, the various Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG committees have looked into the combined project in considerable detail and decided to approve a joint venture as from the start of the 2020-21 season," said Eintracht Frankfurt.

"As one of the original members of FFC, I am absolutely delighted with this outcome. It is a particularly good sign for Frankfurt as a home of women’s football, which is how we are looking to develop Eintracht in a targeted way in the future.
