Discovery: Andrew Georgiou (Lagardère Sports), appointed president of Eurosport International

Andrew Georgiou has been appointed president of Eurosport International in charge of global sports rights and sports marketing solutions, according to the American audiovisual group Discovery, parent company of the pay-TV group, on 26/06/2019. "He will assume his new role this fall as he continues to assist Lagardère SCA in finalising its previously announced sale of Lagardère Sports and Entertainment. Georgiou will report to JB Perrette, president and CEO, Discovery International," said Discovery.

Andrew Georgiou replaces Peter Hutton, who left the company for Facebook in 2018, "but within a different organisation. He will work in collaboration with Discovery generals managers in local markets, including Julien Bergeaud for France, to continue to develop Eurosport's linear and digital activities in each of these markets," said Eurosport to News Tank Football on 28/06/2019.
