UEFA: AC Milan (Serie A TIM) excluded from the 2019-20 Europa League after breaching FFP regulations

"AC Milan (Serie A TIM) is excluded from participating in the UEFA Club Competitions of the sporting season 2019-20 as a consequence of the breach of its FFP (Financial Fair Play) break-even obligations during the 2015/2016/2017 and the 2016/2017/2018 monitoring periods," announced The Court of Arbitration for Sport on 28/06/2019. On 24 and 25/06/2019, the Italian club and UEFA had agreed to refer the matter to the CAS for a decision on two CFCB decisions issued on 20/11/2018 and 10/04/2019, both of which were challenged by AC Milan.

Fifth in the final 2018-19 Serie A TIM standings (68 points, 19 wins, 11 draws and 8 losses), AC Milan have qualified for the 2019-20 Europa League group stage.

"The UEFA Club Financial Control Body investigatory chamber has today communicated its decision to refer the case of AC Milan to the CFCB Adjudicatory Chamber as the club has failed to comply with the break-even requirement during the current monitoring period assessed in the 2018-19 season and covering the reporting periods ending in 2016, 2017 and 2018," said UEFA on 10/04/2019.
