Bundesliga: Bayern Munich's fans on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram up by over 6.6 million in 2018-19

FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) have over 73.7 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, which is over 6.6 million more than on 01/08/2018 (67.1 million fans, +9.9 %), according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/07/2019. No other club performed better among the clubs of the German elite division during the 2018-19 season.

The Bavarian club, and reigning German champions, is the most popular German club, far ahead of Borussia Dortmund, which has over 26.3 million fans (+10 % compared to 01/08/2018). FC Schalke 04 complete the Bundesliga podium with 4.5 million fans (+5.4%).

Eintracht Frankfurt and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are the two German clubs which posted the best percentage growth on the three social networks during 2018-19, with an increase of 22.8% (for a total of 1.6 million fans) and 22.5% (692,306 fans) respectively.

Eintracht Frankfurt and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are the only two Bundesliga clubs to have more than doubled their number of followers on Instagram in 2018-19 (see below).
