Italy: Juventus FC to save €1.5m/year on Adrien Rabiot's salary thanks to a new law

The French midfielder Adrien Rabiot (born on 03/04/1995), who left Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama) for Juventus FC (Serie A TIM) where he has signed for four years and was introduced on Tuesday 02/07/2019, is expected to cost his new club €1.5m less in salary per year, thanks to a new law published by the "Gazzetta Ufficiale" (the official Journal of record of the Italian governement) on 29/06/2019.

The law allows players arriving in Italy to be taxed on only 50% of their income: Adrien Rabiot's €7m annual net salary (according to Italian media) represents a gross amount to be paid by Juventus (employer's contributions not included) of €8.5m (with a maximum tax of 43% on only half of the €7m) instead of €10m (43% tax on the total).

On the other hand, while the €8.5m that Juventus are going to pay annually enables the French player to receive €7m net, the same gross amount would have represented only €5.94m net without the new law.
